Paddle Shaft Mixer Dryer

Built on the proven twin-shaft paddle mixer design, the paddle shaft dryers are available in open- and closed-system variants.

In the open system, ambient air warms in a heater before entering the drying chamber from both sides towards the paddles. The paddles drive air through the material up to the fluidised zone, lifting particles to increase surface area and drying rate. Moist air exits with fine particles collected in filter bags on the exhaust side.

In the closed system, heated air blows into the mixer with the moist product. Heat exchange evaporates moisture from the product. Moist air passes through a filter, into a fan, then through a cooler for condensation before reheating. When drying very moist products, the wet product mixes with the dry product first to maintain fluidisation and a high drying rate.
