Application
In the Pickling Section, the steels are rolled and passed through various tanks. To maintain the level of concentration in HCL acid, our Density Meters play an important role in the Pickling Section Process:
In the Manufacturing process, the Steel rolls are sent through various tanks containing HCL acid. One of the tanks contains fresh acid, which is Stage 1 of the process. Thereafter, the steel rolls are processed in various other tanks. In the final tank, the acid is the most impure.
To recover the acid from the final process / final tank, the acid is sent to the Acid Regeneration Plant (ARP). Here is where the acid is regenerated, and fresh acid is again used in the first process of Pickling.
The concentrated solution is passed through our Density Meter, and the concentration of the fluid will be measured. Based on Concentration, the flow rate of the solution varies in the pickling process.
IMPORTANT: Acid in the tank must be a concentrated solution (ie)18% HCL in 100% water. Our Density meter is used to maintain the concentration of HCL and H2O to ensure the good quality of Steel during Pickling. If not, the entire process fails, and the quality of the end product (Steel) will be low.
Conclusion
Our Density meter plays a key role in ARP and measures the Concentration of the solution, which is the main source for the Pickling plant.
