Dairy industries generally use butter oils at a temperature around 70 deg C. Unlike other oils, butter oil cannot be maintained at room temperature because the state of the fluid will change from liquid to semi-solid.
Butter oil is an anhydrous forms of milk fat that are defined as products exclusively obtained from milk, cream or butter from various animal species with a moisture content of maximum 0.3%.
Customer had already tried to master this application using a flow meter from competition but it were often failing in the application and therefore searching for a reliable and accurate mass flowmeter to be used at one of their plant.
Toshniwal supplied OV05 in stainless steel. The oval wheel flowmeter turned out to be the flowmeter of choice in this application as it provided the necessary accuracy even at temperatures around 70 deg C
To ensure the free flow of the process the flowmeter is equipped with solid wheel with polished finishing is used with triclover coupling. A special type cone strainer with clamps is used.
The meter allowed for a smooth setup and configuration.
Customer is very satisfied with the OV05. The meter has provided excellent accuracy and repeatibility at apecified temperatures and handled the specific process conditions exceedingly well. The direct volumetric measurement for food grade application with low cost satisfied the customer .
